Site No 91 - Absalon Camping.

The DCU (Danish Camping Union) owns this site and has it’s offices at the same address so this site is obviously it’s flagship site. The pitches are large and well maintained and the facilities blocks of which there are two are modern and very well maintained. There are also a kitchen area with more than enough gas hobs, ovens etc to go round with a clean comfortable dining room/lounge to eat the results of your culinary efforts. A huge TV is available to relax in front of after you have done your washing up in the spotless dishwashing area. As appears common in Denmark extras, washing machine use, t’internet etc., is added to your account and paid for when you leave.

This campsite is the absolute biz for visiting Copenhagen city, fifteen minutes stroll to the station, if you arrive as the train is leaving, a ten (not nine or eleven) minute wait till the next and then fifteen minutes to the heart of the city - you could spend more time than that looking for somewhere to park which is, apparently, in Copenhagen both rare and expensive. The campsite is able to sell you rail tickets we bought a 10 journey ticket for DKK 200 (£21.44) which would have been good value if we had not bought Copenhagen Cards which included all public transport within the local area and so finished up when it was time to leave with four journeys still on the ticket.

I said of site No 90 - Ribe Camping that it was without doubt the best run site we have ever stayed on well, Absalon Camping is as good and one we would be happy to recommend and to which we would certainly return if in the area.
